We are looking for someone to join our Coordinating team as a Service Coordinator for one of our community groups, Apple group. 

Full time (40 hours per week) permanent role. £29,243 per annum (rising to £30,368 in year two.)

L’Arche London is more than just a service provider, we’re a diverse, inclusive community of nearly 100 people, with and without learning disabilities who live, work and celebrate together. We provide registered care and supported housing as well as specialist day services. Our aim is to provide a place of belonging to help people with learning disabilities live independent yet connected lives.

We are looking for someone to join our leadership team as a Service Coordinator. You will be responsible for the delivery of high quality person-centred support for one of our community groups, Apple group. Each group has 8 - 10 community members with learning disabilities, living in 3 Supported Living houses.

Supported by a Deputy Coordinator, you will manage and inspire a team of 12 - 15 support assistants, working together to support the practical, social and spiritual needs of the members of your group.

As a member of our Coordinating leadership team led by our Registered Manager, you will provided with a programme of personal development and training including opportunities to study for CQF qualifications in social care, and leadership development through L’Arche UK’s leadership training programme.

Throughout the pandemic, the community groups at L’Arche London have remained strong and positive teams, who have ensured that the people we support have been able to flourish despite COVID restrictions. Now as things are opening up, we are beginning to reimagine what support, care and shared lives can look like, building on our existing quality and on the unique faith-based values of L’Arche. This role is part of a key group of leaders shaping this exciting time.

So we’re looking for someone with knowledge and experience of supporting people with learning disabilities, as well as an enthusiasm for L’Arche’s values, the ability to inspire others and a willingness to be part of our friendly, professional and committed team. 

Please note:

  • This role is offered subject to a probationary period of 6 months; 3 clear references; a completed work history form; and a satisfactory and up-to-date enhanced DBS check. We are not able to sponsor visas for this role so all applicants must already have the right to work in the UK and we are required to complete a right to work check for all employees.

  • To ensure we comply with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2021 (“the Regulations”), Service Coordinators need to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 unless clinically exempt. Appointees will need provide evidence of their vaccine status or exemption before they start work.
  • Because we support medically vulnerable people, regular COVID 19 testing (PCR and lateral flow) are a standard requirement for all staff including Service Coordinators and for the people we support.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 10 and Monday 15 November 2021. The interview will have two parts, both in person. There will be an interview with task and a visit to one of our houses to enable us to see you interact with people with learning disabilities and for a panel of people with learning disabilities to interview you.
