JOB DESCRIPTION Job title: Day Services Support Assistant Reports to: The line manager for this role is Day Service Development Coordinator, but on a day to daybasis you will receive direction and guidance from the team of Day Service facilitators.This post does not directly line manage anyone, but does support volunteers. Hours of work: Full time, 40 hours per week. It is expected that this role will work during core Day Service Hours from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. There is no payment for overtime. On occasions some weekend and evening work may be necessary for which time off in lieu will be provided and scheduled in agreement with your manager Salary: The starting salary for this post as a Non-Residential Live Out role is £22, 984 gross (£11.05 per hour, L’Arche UK pay band 1.1). The salary for this role will increase in year two to £11.35 an hour, which is £23,608 per annum gross (L’Arche UK pay band 1.2). Place of work: West Norwood, South London. The Day Services Support Assistant will provide support in both the Craft Workshop on Norwood High Street, SE27 and the Garden Workshop on Barston Road, SE27. Day Service sessions are also occasionally run at L’Arche London houses within West Norwood. Main purpose of the role: The Day Services team plays a key role in our community, helping people with learning disabilities to live active lives through a programme of social, skills-based and therapeutic activities including art, design, craft and gardening. We're looking for a Support Assistant to join the team to help us create a safe and supportive environment for the individuals who attend the service. This role would suit someone with care experience, who is committed to supporting people with learning disabilities to develop their creative skills, enabling them to achieve their agreed personal goals; and who is supportive of the wider values, ethos and purpose of the L’Arche London community.
