Residential/Live-in Support AssistantThese roles are open to anyone from the UK, EU citizens who have existing permission to work in the UK, and we are able to sponsor a Tier 5 Volunteer Charity Worker Visa for international applicants (from January 2021 this includes EU citizens). Full training, accommodation and housing expenses, food and a monthly living allowance of £331 is provided. Relief Bank Support AssistantsWe are always looking for people with previous L'Arche experience (either from L'Arche London or other L'Arche communities around the world) or external candidates with relevant care experience to join our bank of Relief Support Assistants. We especially need Relief Support Assistants who are available in the evenings and at weekends. Whilst we welcome applications from people of all genders, at present (April 2021) we are prioritising applications from female candidates to balance our team and the range of support we offer. This is a flexible working role, with hours dependent on your availability and the needs of the people you support. We are looking for people to join us for at least one year. We require all Relief Support Assistants to work full time 40 hours a week (including evenings and weekends) for their first 3 months probationary period. This time provides the opportunity to build relationships with the people you are supporting, to shadow and learn the role, and to complete our induction and training programme. Once they have completed their initial 12 weeks, Relief Bank Support Assistants submit their monthly availability to their Coordinator, who then matches this with the needs of the people we support. Our hourly rate is £9.77 per hour (including holiday pay). We also pay a base fee of £28 per sleep over and operate a top up scheme to ensure that every hour of a 9 hour sleepover is paid at National Minimum Wage. We provide our assistants with an ongoing programme of training, professional and personal development. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
